Range of motion (ROM) is obtained by measuring different directions of movement for a region of the body. Entering the measurements separately on the Wellness Score would make your report long and bulky.  To simplify this, you will enter the total of the measured ROM for the score rather than entering each measurement individually for a region.

Step 1:  During the physical exam, note each plane of motion you wish to measure.  For example, measure the Cervical ROM of your patient for Flexion, Extension, Bilateral Lateral Flexion, and Bilateral Rotation.

Step 2:  Add up the 6 measurements and enter the total into the Wellness Score. The Wellness Score will then calculate a rating for you.  (The rating is calculated by dividing the measured total by the total of the ideal ROM and then multiplying the result by 100 for a percentage).

In this example, the total ideal ROM is 440 degrees.  The total ROM measured on the patient was 240.  240 is entered into the Wellness Score. When this number is entered into the Wellness Score, it will calculate a rating based on the percentage of ROM, which in this case is 55%. This means the patient has about half of their ideal ROM, and the Wellness Score will calculate a score/grade accordingly.

Use the following recommended measurements below for the Cash Practice Wellness Score, or create your own if you choose. These measurements are a reference for you to use, however, if you have different numbers that you use for the ideal range of motion, you can create a parameter set that reflects your measurements.  How do create my own parameter?

The Wellness Score will calculate a rating based upon restrictions of normal range of motion.  If a patient is hypermobile in multiple planes of motion, the total will be higher than the ideal range.  The Wellness Score will account for this and the rating will decrease accordingly.
