First, you must complete the EMV terminal setup.

Step 1: From your account → in the top right of the navigation menu → click on the [Virtual Terminal] icon.

Step 2: Using the [Virtual Terminal], enter your patient's name, type in the dollar amount, and select the [Card EMV] icon for "Billing Type".
Note: If you have more than one EMV Terminal at your location, select the terminal that you'd like to process from.

Step 3: Click on the [Process EMV Card for $X], then instruct the customer to follow the prompts on the terminal. Once the transaction is accepted, you will see a receipt on your computer monitor.

Notes:

  • The terminal may time out, so ensure the patient has their card ready to insert/ swipe/ tap.
  • When the payment is complete, the terminal will ask the customer to remove the card if it was inserted.
  • Lane 5000 users only - After the payment goes through, the customer will be prompted to sign on the terminal screen (using their finger or stylus), then click [OK] or the green button.
  • If the customer was not prompted to sign on the terminal, there will not be a signature line on the receipt.
  • The EMV terminal won't automatically save patient card information. To save it, you'll need to manually add it during the payment process. Just select the [Save to Billing Vault] checkbox, then follow steps 2-3 above to complete adding the information.

To view the transactions from the [Dashboard], click on the [End of Day Summary Report].

From the Posted Payment Report, you can view, void, or refund the transactions.
