Important Terminal Setup and Maintenance Guidelines
To ensure optimal performance and connectivity for your EMV terminal, please observe the following guidelines:

  • Continuous Power and Internet Connection: The terminal must remain powered on and connected to the internet 24/7. This ensures that daily transaction batches are processed successfully and that your device receives critical automatic software updates.
  • Surge Protector Recommendation: We highly recommend connecting your terminal to a surge protector. This provides an essential layer of protection against potential electrical surges, which could otherwise damage the device.
  • Ethernet Connection: The Ethernet cord supplied with your terminal must be securely plugged directly into your router for a stable wired network connection. If you do not have an open port, then you can purchase a Gigabit Ethernet Network Switch from your local electronics store or HERE from Amazon.

Step-by-Step Device Setup:

Step 1: Initial Device Power-Up and Network Confirmation

Begin by powering on your terminal. Connect all provided cords to their respective ports. The device is fully loaded and ready when the screen displays "Powered by Paya."

To verify your terminal's network connection:

  1. Press "0000" on the terminal keypad.
  2. Use the down arrow button to locate "IP Address."

If an IP address is displayed, your device is successfully connected to your network.

Note: Steps 2-4 are optional.

Step 2: Follow the sequence below to adjust account user permissions:

  • A: Hover over the [User Profile] (top right corner)
  • B: Hover over [My Account]
  • C: Click on [Account Users]

Step 3:
The Admin/Owner of the account will automatically have permission to everything; however, permission for each account user must be given for that user to be able to void or refund EMV transactions. To give permission to the account user, click on the [More] drop-down menu and select [Edit User].

Step 4:
 Permissions:

  1. Select the [Permissions] tab
  2. Then [Auto-Debit System]
  3. If you want the account user to have the ability to void or refund payments, turn on the toggle piece icon(s)
  4. Lastly, click [Save]. Repeat this step for each account user
