If you import your patients and their demographics into your Cash Practice account, our payment tools will automatically pull the patient's home address from their patient record and add it to the billing address section when processing a transaction.

If you are using an integrated EHR: When you process a new patient's first transaction through the EHR, the system automatically creates a Cash Practice record for them. This pulls their demographics from the EHR, using their home address as the billing address. This automated sync only occurs on that first initial transaction. Any changes to the patient's home or billing address done in your EHR will need to be manually updated in Cash Practice.

However, it is still important to confirm the billing address with every patient each time they use a new card, as the home address pulled from the patient record may not always be the same as the billing address for their new card or bank account. For example, a patient may use a P.O. box or an old address for billing purposes.

By taking a moment to confirm the correct billing address, you can help avoid potential issues such as declined cards and higher processing fees.

Here's a simple script you can use when speaking with patients:

"John, for security purposes, could you please confirm if your home address is the billing address for this card?"
