Whenever the card is physically present and used on a terminal or card swiper with a Retail Merchant Account, there is less risk to the bank, as the business accepting the card is to verify the cardholder's identity to prevent fraud. For that reason, these types of transactions may be lower compared to key-entered transactions.

With that said, there are more pros than cons to storing cards on file to process key-entered transactions and auto-debits which help increase patient retention, cash collections, and ease congestion at the front desk. Not to mention the convenience to the patient and the efficiency your staff will experience.
