1. Wrap a tape measure around the patient’s waist at the smallest point, usually around their belly button. This is the waist circumference. Record the number.
  2. Measure the hips. Next, wrap the tape measure around the patient’s hips at the widest part. This is the hip circumference. Record the number.
  3. Divide. Use a calculator to divide the waist size by the hip size. This is the Waist-to-Hip ratio.
  4. Record the ratio into the Wellness Score.
