- Before importing your patients, please make sure that you have enough space in your account to accommodate the file. (Most accounts have a database size of 500-1,000 patients.)
- We do not recommend that you import inactive patients unless you are using the Drip-Education® Email Marketing System.
- If you're only using the Auto-Debit System® or Cash Plan Calculator® System, there is no reason to import a huge list of patients when only a handful of them will be on a payment plan.
Use the following instructions ONLY if you have existing patients in your Cash Practice® account that has their Genesis® account information saved OR if you do not have any existing patients in your Cash Practice® account
Step 1: Log into Genesis® → access the [Reports] menu at the top of the page.
Step 2: From the menu access [Patients]→[Patient List]
Step 3: At the bottom of the patient list page, change the default to CASH PRACTICE® and then click on [search].
Step 4: To export your newly formatted list, select the worksheet icon button to the left at the bottom of the page.
Step 5: A new tab/page will open with the information needed for the export.
Step 6: Select all of the text on the newly opened page and copy (Ctrl- C)
Step 7: Open Microsoft Excel, and in cell A1 right-click and select [Paste Special] choose [text] and [ok].
Step 8: In Excel go to file- save as.
Step 9: Name the file, do not include spaces or hyphens in the file name.
Step 10: Save as type MUST be CSV (Comma Delimited)
Step 11: Save the file somewhere you can easily access it- we suggest the desktop. The file contains each of your patient's Genesis® account numbers. This number will be inserted into the 3rd Party Software Acct Number field to allow Genesis® & Cash Practice® Systems to sync.
Note: Steps 12-17 are performed in your Cash Practice® account.
Step 12: Log into Cash Practice®→ go to [Patient] → [Patient Tools]→ [Import Patients]
Step 13: Patient Importer Screen will load.
Step 14: Click the [Choose File] button to locate the exported file.
Step 15: Click the [Upload] button.
Step 16: When the file has been uploaded, you will have a message box letting you know the file is processing.
Step 17: You may check on the status of your upload by going to [Patients]→ [Patient Tools]→ [Import Patients]→ [Import Results] Tab
