We are finding that with rising deductibles and co-pays, more patients have a Health Savings Account (HSA), Flex Spending Account (FSA), or even Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) to help pay for their care in your office.
You can accept these cards as long as they have a Visa or MasterCard logo. Most of these card issuers require the services to be rendered before the payment is collected, which is no problem for patients who pay per visit.
For patients who are on a payment plan, it is recommended that you delay the start date of the first scheduled payment by 2-3 weeks so that the services have already been rendered before the payment is collected.
